Civil Society and PRS-Monitoring in Burkina Faso
The Debt-for-Development Unit of Alliance Sud (the former Swiss Coalition) carried out a study on "Civil Society and Monitoring the PRSP in Burkina Faso" (2003).
The study was commissioned by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco) and aimed at informing the Swiss Government on potential interventions in support of strengthening civil society organizations in monitoring Burkina Faso's poverty reduction strategy. For this purpose, we assessed their roles, activities, and strategies in the monitoring process and performed an analysis to identify the gap between required and existing monitoring capacities.
